Although a product that Mudfords sells a great many of during normal years, 2007 and 2008 have proved a strain on our resources and in June 2007, when an almost nationwide flood disaster struck, even we ran out of sandbags and we had to offer alternatives to customers.
Our Managing Director and Commercial Manager, Glyn Dove and David Millington, gave their mobile phone numbers to councils in case of late night or weekend emergencies, and found themselves called several times for both occasions.
This lead to Mudfords, along with other companies providing emergency services, being awarded a certificate of thanks from Sheffield City Council in July 2007.
Although September 2008 has proved a busy time for sending out sandbags, so far the rain has not been as devastating as the previous year, and we can only keep our fingers crossed that it continues in that vein.
